Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a solution focused therapy with an emphasis on understanding and analysing the underlying ways in which people process and relate to the world around them, in order to implement the best possible solution for your individual problem. In this way you and your personal model of the world is the focus of therapy, not the label your problem may have been given.

I use an Evidence-Based Approach:  Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy (QCH) launched a unique research project in 2011. Using a team of QCH therapists, clients with anxiety and depression were assessed using the same outcome measures currently used to assess the effectiveness of talking therapies within the NHS. The pilot study was published in the Mental Health Review Journal in 2015. It recorded that, using 118 cases measuring the effectiveness of Cognitive Hypnotherapy for the treatment of depression and anxiety, 71% considered themselves recovered after an average of 4 sessions. This compared to an average of 42% for other approaches using the same measures (like CBT). To our knowledge, this is the only hypnotherapy approach to have been validated in this way.  (For further information concerning the research project and pilot study released in the Mental Health Review Journal please visit the evidence-based therapy research page.)

Therapy Sessions are up to 90 minutes long, with the first session generally being a little longer so that we can spend time discussing your issue and developing a treatment plan for subsequent sessions. I charge £100 per session.  You will also receive a free WordWeaving™ download in MP3 format written specifically for you that you can listen to in your own time and at your own pace.  This reinforces and consolidates the work that we do during your sessions.

The birth of your baby should be the most joyful and positive experience of your life. Your mind can work with your body, reducing pain and allowing your body to respond to its natural instincts, so that you can approach the birth of your baby with confidence and excitement.

Confidentiality is maintained in compliance with the Data Protection Act (1998). Everything that is discussed in your session will be treated in the utmost confidence. Circumstances might occur where confidentiality would have to broken – for example, if I had a concern regarding your safety or that of someone else, in which case I would contact your GP.

If you can’t make an appointment 24 hours notice would be appreciated which will allow me to make your appointment time available to another client.

I’m often asked will it work? With Cognitive Hypnotherapy just as with life, there are no magic wands, so I’m afraid I can’t guarantee success. However, I will say that if you are looking for support as you make changes in your life and are willing to engage fully with the process, I will guarantee to work with you for as long as necessary, to get the results you want.
